I find this to be a slightly weird case, but it has it’s purpose: you want to carry your external hard drive along when traveling or when you’re bringing your computer somewhere. What’s weird is that the case doesn’t offer anything but scratch and lint protection, cable carrying, and maybe minorly obscures what this object is.

The case isn’t hard. There’s no padding. It’ll keep your drive clean and separate from all your other stuff, but won’t protect it from being dropped or crushed. It needs to go inside another, sturdier bag to really keep the drive *safe*.

But really, when do you carry a hard drive around by itself? It’s fine for what it is.

GoFlex drive fits, but is VERY tight, August 24, 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What’s this?)

I was able to cram my Seagate GoFlex hard drive plus cable inside this case, but it was so tight that I’m concerned about the zipper eventually breaking. To store the drive, I much prefer the AmazonBasics Universal Camera Case for Digital Cameras HF (Black)which fits the GoFlex perfectly, has a zippered pocket for the cable, plenty of padding for protection, and even costs a few dollars less.

This case is fine for storing items such as cameras, smartphones or video mp3 players, up to about 3.25 x 5.25 inches. If the device is less than an inch thick, you can place flash drives, batteries or memory cards in the pocket.

The positive is that this hard shell case provides the necessary protection to my portable Western Digital Passport USB 3.0/2.0 hard drive. But, I have to squeeze the hard drive and connecting cable into this tiny case. Hence the 3 stars.
